Summer Boise River Events
Get out and enjoy the Boise River this summer! The Boise River Park is a great place to visit. You’ll be entertained by the acrobatic moves of kayakers, surfers and standup paddle boarders at all daylight hours.
On August 9, pack up the family and head up Highway 21, along Mores Creek, for the 6th Annual Kokanee Outdoor Day. Kokanee are land-locked salmon that turn a beautiful bright red during spawning season. A large population of kokanee live in Lucky Peak Reservoir and travel up Mores Creek to spawn in August. Kokanee Outdoor Day celebrates these fish and the fabulous natural environment of the Boise River.
There are three activity stops along Hwy 21 that will welcome you from 10 am – 2 pm, and there’s a Festival in John Brogan Park in Idaho City from 12 – 4 pm. Enjoy lots of activities along with music, food and drink.
